Very comfortable

"I used my Baby Trekker for 6 years straight, with my three children. It was extremely comfortable to wear - I was able to wear my 2 mo. old for up to 8 hours/day while hiking in New Zealand, and was able to use it to take a 16 mo. old to school. The weight distribution is very good, and the baby feels secure so truly hands-free use is possible. It's also a good alternative to a frame backpack, esp. for younger babies or for taking on an airplane (as our frame backpack was damaged this way). The only real drawback is that all that padding can be hot in the summer."

"I have a love/ hate relationship with this carrier. I found it very comfortable especially with a large heavy newborn. It is easy to learn how to use. Another advantage is that it allows the baby to face out both on your front and back which can be a lifesaver with babies of certain temperments. And it is ubiquitous and readily available on the used market which allows folks to have an affordable carrier that they can use in a variety of ways, nurse in and wear baby in for many years. So what's the problem?? Well, basically the baby doesn't get enough hip support as their legs dangle. This is speculated to create potential problems when the baby is carried in this for long periods of time. Particularly in the facing out positions, concerns about strain on the babies spine abound. And baby finds it uncomfortable in the crotch area over time. But as part of a larger collection of baby carriers, and used when baby is only content facing out I think this is a useful carrier. And for the parent who only has access to this carrier and only wants to carry baby in this carrier it is the best of its type available. I am hoping this overtakes the Bjorn which basically sucks. As a backpack by the way, this carrier is fine. Truth be told, I am borrowing one of these right now precisely because I have found there are some chores around the house and temperments my baby gets into where the trekker cannot be beat. A baby needs to be worn almost constantly, and a trekker can make that possible."
