comfortable, not discreet nursing

"I enjoy my ERGO when I need to wear my baby on my back, like when I need to cook a big meal or get heavy duty chores done. 99% of the time, baby is in my SlingEZee, which allows me to shift baby easily from one position to the next and breastfeed discreetly."

Hip Position

"I use the hip position a lot but I find that the strap is uncomfortable on my neck after periods greater than ~ half an hour. My 6 mos old is tiny and disappers using the front and back positions...she can't see out well and it frustrates her. It's all about the stage your baby is in.....I find it's best to have several different ways to wear my baby and the ergo will become a better option as gets older/bigger. "

"Nice heavy duty carrier, but The waist padding was too much and too stiff for me. After wearing it for extended periods it dug into my hips and was uncomfortable. I wish the body was taller too for my toddler."

Love it

"Both my husband and I love the Ergo. It fits us both even though we are totally different heights and weights. Adjusts wonderfully to both of us."

Love the Ergo!

"I got my Ergo at http://sobebabies.com and I love it! Not only did I get a great product, I got personalized help on how to use it front or back. I also love the pouch. This is so much better than the sling I used with my first baby."

ergo baby carrier

"I have tried the baby bjorn, a sling and a frame backpack. Didn't really feel comfortable with any of them. My friend suggested the ergo so i bought one. I love it! We have a newborn and a 3 year old. Just for fun I put my extremely heavy 3 year old in the back position and I could actually carry him comfortably. Unbelievable. The infant manuevering is a little more difficult but great once you get it right. Get one of these. It will last you the longest and be the most comfortable. I promise."

THE BEST
posted by Erin Before 03/2006
"I know a lot about baby wearing, I have carried three children around quite a bit. The Ergo is the best carrier for everday heavy baby hauling. I still carry my large 2 year old around to keep him out of trouble! Other baby carriers do have their place, and may rate high in some areas, but for practicality's sake, the Ergo is the best. There is a small learning curve, but once you get it, you are free."

Life Saver!
posted by Maricel Before 03/2006
"A friend of mine noticed that I struggled to carry my toddler child. I purchased this carrier and it has been my life saver on our many adventurous trips to Disneyland, Hawaii, Monterey...etc. My daughter is almost 4 years old and I still carry her on my back and it is still as supportive and comfortable as when I first bought it when she was only 2. The best for back carrying

"Once my son could sit up, getting him onto my back allowed me to lead a more active life around the house. I found that while my frame backpack was comfortable to wear, it was just too bulky. I found the ergo and haven't looked back. I can wear my kids for hours in this including while they sleep. My husband still uses the frame pack, but it has been replaced by the ergo for me. If you are trying to decide between a frame or soft back carrier, I suggest this ergo. I didn't like it as a front carrier however."

The best of all carriers I've tried!
posted by Laura Hamilton Before 03/2006
"I have had almost every kind of carrier. It comes down to two now...my Girasol wrap and my Ergo carrier. As my son gets older (he's now 16 months) I find I am exclusively using the Ergo. It has become second nature to pop him in and out for errands while out and about. I used it recently in Hawaii, where we did some very adventurous hiking on a daily basis, and I am using it right now to get him down for a nap. LOOOVE it!"

Not easy to put baby in - 2.5 stars.
posted by Hannah Frame Before 03/2006
"I got this after my baby got too big for the Baby Bjorn. It's a good idea, but it's not easy to put an infant on the back. I always need the help of another adult to position my baby on my back. Also a challenge to put my baby on my front since I can't clasp the shoulder buckle easily since it's around the shoulder blade level. A little pricey at $92 (includes shipping). Customer service at the company seemed nice when I called but they never got back to me on a major question I had. "
